Colwyn Bay located in the middle of the North Wales coast is one of the easiest town’s to travel to whether it’s by bus, train, bike or car.

By Car

The A55 coastal ‘Expressway’ links in seamlessly with the motorway network from the North West. From the Midlands and South of England use the M6, M5 and M1. For a scenic route from the Midlands take the A5 via Shrewsbury and Llangollen.

Car Parking – There are a number of municipal pay and display car parks in Colwyn Bay and up to three hours free car parking for shoppers at the Bay View Shopping Centre.

By Bus/Coach

The National Express network covers travel from most UK towns, stopping at Llandudno and other coastal destinations in North Wales.

By Train

Direct train services run to our popular North Wales coastal destinations from most parts of Britain. Virgin Trains, for example, operate a direct London Euston to Llandudno Junction service. Along the coast there are stations at Pensarn, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan. Inland, the Conwy Valley line runs from Llandudno to Betws-y-Coed and beyond.

For overseas visitors, a BritRail Pass provides inexpensive travel throughout the UK (it must be purchased before leaving your home country).

There is a free Welsh Mountain Zoo Mini Bus service from Colwyn Bay railway station which runs from late March through to mid-September. The first trip from the station starts at 10:00am and then runs on a continuous loop throughout the day. You should not have to wait longer than 30 minutes for the minibus to arrive for collection. The last trip down from the Zoo is just before 4:45pm.
