Beaches:

Colwyn Bay’s sandy beach stretches between Rhos on Sea and Old Colwyn.

This beautiful bay is regularly awarded the Yellow flag Seaside Award which means it is well-managed with excellent standards of cleanliness and water quality.

The town’s main beach is a great stretch of sand backed by a three mile promenade.

The beach was recently topped up with nearly a three quarter of a million cubic tons of sand which improves the town’s flood defences and also ensures a dry beach at all times.

Zoo:

One of Colwyn Bay’s biggest attractions is the Welsh Mountain Zoo, perched high on a hillside above the town.

It also doubles as the National Zoo of Wales and is home to many rare and endangered species including snow leopards, red pandas, Sumatran tigers, chimpanzees and Californian sea lions.

There is also an exciting Jungle Adventureland and Tarzan Trail Adventure Playground, and the chance to discover more about the animals in the zoo’s state-of-the-art media centre.

Theatre:

Theatr Colwyn was built in 1885 and this Victorian gem is reputedly the oldest operating cinema in Wales.

Every year it comes up with a wide and varied programme of entertainment for all the family.

Along the coast at Rhos-on-Sea you’ll discover the Harlequin Puppet Theatre, Britain’s only purpose built theatre for marionettes.

Leisure:

There’s also the Colwyn Leisure Centre, complete with swimming pool, and Eirias Stadium and Events Centre, which is now the proud home ground of the Welsh Under 20s Six Nations’ team.
